I am Pamela Fry, Coordinator for Women in Trades at TRU, and I am so pleased to be working in this exciting and rapidly developing area. There are many wonderful opportunities ahead for women studying trades at TRU, and part of my purpose in writing this blog will be to keep you informed and up-to-date.

At the moment, we are developing plans for mentoring and leadership training as part of the RBC Success Initiative funding received earlier this year.  See more about the program here:http://inside.tru.ca/2014/02/12/700000-grant-from-rbc-foundation-launches-the-rbc-women-in-trades-training-program/

Also, I will be hosting a number of informal gatherings to learn from you how the School of Trades and Technology at TRU can best support your ongoing success.

Finally, the blog will feature interviews with women students, and those women already working in trades in our community, and beyond.

If you are a female student and currently studying a trade at TRU, please join me for an informal lunch and discussion this Thursday, April 17th at 11:30 in TT219. You can also visit me in my office (TT162), or send me an email: pfry@tru.ca. I look forward to meeting you.
